Welcome

I am a BACP-accredited integrative counsellor and supervisior with over 20 years of experience working with both teenagers and adults. I offer face-to face sessions from my practice in Urmston, Manchester, as well as online.

About Me

My work began in education, teaching students who were re‑sitting GCSEs. Many of the young people I worked with were carrying emotional or traumatic experiences which made learning very difficult. That early experience shaped the way I work today, bringing warmth, understanding and a deep respect for each person’s story.

I began counselling adults in 2008, and since 2013 I have worked full time in secondary and primary schools as a counsellor. I am trained in person‑centred therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I blend these with creative approaches that help young people express themselves in ways that feel natural and safe. As a mum of two teenagers myself, I have an added appreciation for the pressures young people face and the importance of creating a space where they feel genuinely heard.

Alongside my work with young people, I also support adults navigating anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, and the impact of past experiences. I am trauma‑informed, which means I work gently and collaboratively, always prioritising safety, choice, and empowerment.

I have experience of working with many neurodiverse people and I shape the therapeutic process together with each individual so it fits their communication style, needs and strengths.

I am proud to be an LGBTQ+ ally and committed to providing a safe, respectful, and affirming space for clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.

I also have a particular interest in supporting people struggling with insomnia, helping them understand the patterns behind disrupted sleep and enabling them to move towards more restful nights.

Since 2019, I’ve also supervised other counsellors, offering a supportive and reflective space for them to develop their skills and confidence. My approach to supervision is collaborative and encouraging, helping practitioners explore their work, deepen their understanding of their clients, and grow in their own therapeutic style.
